Fall colors are the best.  Living in Florida I really miss the changing of the leaves.  So I created my own fall colors in this card.  The directions are listed below.

Dimensions

  • Cinnamon Cider Cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored at 4 1/4”
  • Cajun Craze cardstock 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Shimmery White cardstock  3 3/4” x 5”
  • Very Vanilla 4” x 5 1/4” + scrap
  • Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper (DSP) 3/4" x 4"
  • Brushed Metallic cardstock- scraps

SMOOSHING

To make the background for this fabulous fall card I used a technique called smooshing.

Supplies needed: cellophane bag, ink refills, spritzer, Shimmery White cardstock

  • Open the bag by cutting along 1 side and the bottom.
  • On one side of the cellophane bag add some drops of ink.  I used several drops of Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie and just a couple of drops of Cherry Cobbler.
  • Spritz some water on the ink.
  • Fold the bag in half so the ink in smooshed in between the 2 sides of the bag.
  • Use your fingers to smoosh the ink around gently.
  • Open the bag again and place the Shimmery White cardstock onto the cellophane.  If you use 2 pieces of cardstock you can get 2 background layers from one smooshing.
  • Press on the cellophane to make sure the ink is on the paper.
  • Open cellophane, remove paper, and let dry.
That’s all there is to it.

Don't forget the pretty card shouldn't stop on the outside.  Use the Very Vanilla cardstock and Plaid Tidings DSP to add something fun to the inside of your card.
